Is there a required theme for the game category?

The student information pack isn't very clear about this topic.

    Following the hackathon theme is encouraged but not required. It is not part of the judging criteria. However, there is a special award category for the project with the best commitment to the theme. The theme will be announced tomorrow during the opening ceremony.
